How Ms. Janine Learned to Sign

Several years ago I was a stay at home mom with two young children and singing part-time.
One day, while looking through a brochure of the Continuing Adult Education Classes, I saw Sign 1 and 2 being offered. I took the courses and loved it!
It didn't take me long to realize that I was falling in love with this beautifully expressive language.
Before classes were over I knew I wanted to continue my signing education and learn all I can about ASL and Deaf Culture. So, I enrolled at Northwestern CT. Community College in Winsted, CT. and joined the Deaf Studies program.
For those of you who know me and have seen me perform, I tend to be very animated with or without using sign language, so needless to say, signing came easy. I soon began to filter my love for sign into my growing children's music career. And now I am blessed to be able to SING & SIGN everyday and live out my dream.
